British & Irish Lions Digital Communications Assistant

An opportunity has arisen to become a Digital Communications Assistant for The British & Irish Lions. 

Working in the Communications Department to assist in the delivery of the digital strategy for the world’s best loved touring team, this exciting role will suit a junior professional pursuing a career in digital communications.

Reporting to the Head of Digital Shane Whelan, the fixed, short-term contract will support the Lions up to, during and after the 2017 Tour to New Zealand and will be Dublin-based, including during the Tour.

Responsibilities include:

·         Assisting the digital team in the development and delivery of digital content across all digital platforms
·         Producing content suitable for all of British & Irish Lions digital channels
·         Helping to identify new digital opportunities to help the British & Irish Lions stay on top of changing trends and new developments in this area
·         Attending a number of major Lions events and announcements in the UK and Ireland and producing best in class content from these marquee events
·         Working closely with the British & Irish Lions commercial team to carry out daily/weekly digital tasks to support British & Irish Lions partners on the official digital channels
·         Setting up new digital channels where applicable
·         Producing weekly analytics reports summarizing the statistics performance of each of the British & Irish Lions digital channels
·         Monitoring & responding to queries/comments/posts from our large digital fan base across all of the British & Irish Lions digital channels
·         Supporting the official British & Irish Lions App
·         Collating communications material for the Tour report

JOB REQUIREMENTS
·         Minimum of 3 years working in a communications environment within a sporting or a similar type industry
·         Experience in producing social content across the following channels is essential: 
Website/YouTube/Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/Database/Linkedin
·         A passion for social media
·         Excellent communication skills
·         Ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines
·         Excellent organisational skills
·         Excellent problem solving skills
·         Strong analytical & reporting skills 

DURATION OF APPOINTMENT
This position is for a fixed term until September 31, 2017 and will be based at the British & Irish Lions Head Office in Simmonscourt House, Simmonscourt Road, Dublin 4.

Weekend working will be required from time to time.
