DHL and the New Zealand Rugby Union have announced that the express and logistics company will officially sponsor the 2005 British and Irish Lions series to New Zealand.
e DHL Lions series will see the British Lions, involving the best players from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales play 11 matches on their five-week tour during June and July, including three Test matches against the All Blacks.
NZRU chief executive Chris Moller said: "We are thrilled to be entering this partnership with DHL for what will be one of the most important sporting events ever held in New Zealand.
"The NZRU conducted a global sponsorship search and we are excited to have a respected worldwide organisation like DHL on board."
DHL have having already enjoyed success in Formula One and with tennis player Jim Courier and they are one of the sponsors of next year’s football World Cup in Germany.
They are also a major sponsor of Surf Life Saving New Zealand.
