Tour manager Bill Beaumont is excited about the British & Irish Lions prospects in New Zealand this summer.
He likes the mix of talent and is particularly delighted at the choice of Ireland’s Brian O’Driscoll as captain.
"We’ve got a squad of hard-nosed, professional rugby players with experience and also the ambition and innocence of youth," he said.
"O’Driscoll brings great skill and leadership. A captain has to be a shoo-in for the Test team and there’s no doubt he is exactly that.
"Being made captain of the 1980 Lions is my fondest rugby memory. I remember it like yesterday, only being able to tell my wife and having to keep it from my mates for weeks.
"There’s no greater honour than wearing that Lions shirt."
