Lions Australia Tour 2013

British & Irish Lion Brian O’Driscoll admits his time as captain of the tourists has been hectic so far – but he is loving every minute of it.

"It has been pretty manic over the last three weeks," he said.

"But it has been good manic. It is just so exciting. It is a difficult time because it’s the build up to it. You just want to get on the plane and get out there."

O’Driscoll revealed Lions coach Sir Clive Woodward had already demonstrated his renowned emphasis on thorough preparation for the tour.

"It is scary to see the attention to detail," the Ireland centre told the Belfast Telegraph.

"Even things like security. We are bringing paper shredders so that any bits of information that are no longer needed are destroyed!"

O’Driscoll added: "Sir Clive has also put a huge emphasis on enjoyment and he believes a happy squad plays the best rugby."
