British & Irish Lions captain Brian O’Driscoll was happy with the performance his side produced in the 23-6 win over Wellington.
O’Driscoll was pleased to see the Lions get back on track after Saturday’s disappointing defeat to New Zealand Maori.
"We went out with certain goals and played better than we did against the Maori," said O’Driscoll.
Rain made handling difficult and O’Driscoll claimed it meant the game was not free-flowing.
"The ball was like a bar of soap out there and both sides made a lot of unforced errors.
"There was a swirling wind and the surface was very greasy.
"It wasn’t there for an expansive game and we had to rough it out." O’Driscoll added on Sky Sports 1.
Wellington’s Ma’a Nonu felt his side would have given a better show if they had more preparation time.
He said: "We just did not get enough time to prepare ourselves. We just went out there and gave it our all."
Nonu was impressed by the performance put in by the tourists.
"I was very impressed, they are obviously world-class players," said Nonu.
"With Jonny (Wilkinson) out there just controlling the game, they got us on the back foot all the time," he added.
