Scotland captain Jon Petrie has undergone successful surgery on his shoulder but the Glasgow Warriors star can expect to be sidelined for up to four months.
Petrie suffered a severe dislocation of the shoulder during Friday’s Celtic League match against Newport Gwent Dragons.
He was operated on by surgeon Gordon MacKay at Glasgow’s Ross Hall hospital on Sunday.
Glasgow Warriors’ team doctor Gerry Haggerty said: "Jonny had his shoulder put back into place at Glasgow’s Western Infirmary on Friday night and on Sunday he had surgery to tighten up the capsule.
"The surgeon, Gordon MacKay, was very happy with the repair."
