Jason White has heaped praise on Scotland’s man of the Six Nations and is backing Chris Paterson to be back for the British & Irish Lions in 2009.
The Edinburgh wing was a surprise omission from the squad which toured New Zealand last year.
But having amassed 57 points as Scotland secured third place in the Six Nations, Paterson has been tipped to be back with the Lions when they tour South Africa in three years’ time.
Scotland captain White said: "Chris has got great ability and was a great player for us this year.
"He is exemplary with the ball in hand and he was a big success for us so, injury permitting, he should be a big player for us and the British Lions in the future."
