Chiefs captain Jono Gibbes remains tight-lipped about where his rugby playing future lies.
But the 29-year-old forward confirmed he was in negotiations with a number of parties, including the New Zealand Rugby Union, but stressed no deals had been agreed at this stage.
The lock-cum-flanker, who has played eight Tests for New Zealand, has been linked with a move to Welsh team the Ospreys.
"I’m just working through a few options at the moment. By no means is there any sort of deal done yet – I’m just working through a few things with (the) New Zealand (Rugby Union) and some overseas stuff," he said.
Gibbes could yet remain in New Zealand, with new New Zealand Maori coach Donny Stevenson keen for him to stay and his Chiefs coach Ian Foster, who is also the Junior All Blacks coach, hopeful of retaining his services.
A move to the Ospreys would see Gibbes link up with former All Blacks team-mate Justin Marshall, who recently signed from Leeds Tykes.
Gibbes made his All Blacks debut against England in 2004 and played the last of his Tests against the British & Irish Lions in Wellington last year. He also led the New Zealand Maori to victory over the Lions.
Injury prevented him from playing on the All Blacks’ end-of-season tour to Europe and he missed part of the Chiefs’ Super 14 campaign with foot and rib injuries.
The Chiefs, who are out of semi-final contention, beat the Waratahs 37-33 in their final game at home last Saturday.
Their last game of the season is against the Blues in Auckland this weekend.
