Bristol scrum-half Shaun Perry has signed a contract extension which will keep him at the Memorial Stadium until mid-2009.
Perry, 28, joined Bristol from National League One club Coventry last summer, but made such an impression during his first season of Premiership rugby that he was appointed England A captain and may have toured Australia with the senior national squad next month had it not been for a wrist injury.
"We are delighted that Shaun has decided to pledge his long-term future at Bristol, as he will form an extremely important part of the club’s development over the next three years," said Bristol head coach Richard Hill.
"We have a number of exciting young players at this club, and we hope Shaun will be the first of many to commit long term to Bristol."
