British & Irish Lion Jonny Wilkinson believes England need some "big wins" to boost confidence after a disappointing last two years.
Andy Robinson’s team have lost 15 of their 26 Tests since the 2003 World Cup final triumph against Australia.
"It’s about trying to get a series of big wins under your belt and getting that feeling that you can beat anyone at any time," said Wilkinson, who is well on the way to full fitness after being plagued by injuries since kicking the winning drop-goal in Sydney.
"I don’t see why that’s going to be a problem. England have got the right coaches and right players."
The 27-year-old insists his injury woes are now behind him and he is ready to resume his career.
"I’m fit to play now and have been since the start of the summer," the Newcastle Falcons fly-half told The Journal.
"I’m in better shape now for playing than I’ve ever been."
