New Zealand fly-half Dan Carter was delighted after he returned to kicking form in the 35-17 win over South Africa in Wellington.
Carter was below par when the defending champions started their title defence with a victory over Australia two weeks ago.
And he may have expected more of the same when, after just 17 seconds, his clearance was charged down by Fourie du Preez, who opened the scoring.
But Carter responded with 25 points to lead the All Blacks to a 12th successive win.
"Obviously I was pretty disappointed with the start," he said. "But you’ve just got to move on and right from the next kick-off it was out of my mind and I wasn’t thinking about it at all.
"I started thinking about it again once the game had finished. It was just one of those things that can happen. I’ll learn from that.
"I just continued with my three sessions and the same again this week, I don’t think it is a matter of putting in any extra work.
"I have a set regime and it is pretty intense and I guess out there is just the reward for the hard work I have been putting in."
Carter looked ahead to next week’s tie against Australia in Brisbane, where the Wallabies thrashed the Springboks last time out.
"They’ll come into that game, especially over there, pretty confident after their result last week against South Africa," added the Crusaders five-eighth.
"They’ve got a good side and they’ll be pretty gutted about the way they performed in Christchurch so we’ll have to take another step up if we’re going to have another win over there."
