France lock Sebastien Chabal will face a disciplinary hearing on Monday after being cited for a dangerous tackle on England’s Simon Shaw during last night’s World Cup semi-final.
The Sale Sharks star was a substitute for the match, which finished 14-9 in England’s favour, and was introduced off the bench in the 26th minute following an injury to Fabien Pelous.
The tackle was spotted by citing commissioner Dennis Wheelahan.
Chabal had been set to start for Les Bleus in Friday’s third- and fourth-placed play-off at the Parc des Princes.
