Springbok stalwarts Schalk Burger and Bryan Habana look set to be named in the South Africa side to face Argentina in Johannesburg this Saturday.
Burger and Habana were injured during the Boks’ defeat against Australia in Perth on July 19 but team manager Andy Marinos and head coach Peter de Villiers confirmed that both players were back in training and likely to be in contention for selection.
Habana suffered an aggravation of his AC joint in Perth and has not yet been involved in any contact sessions since the squad reassembled last week. However, he will progress into contact this week with the expectation that he should be ready for team selection for the weekend.
Burger sustained a whiplash injury against the Wallabies but commenced training earlier this week. His progress is being monitored but de Villiers is expected to name the flanker in his matchday 22 later this afternoon.
