Max and Thom Evans will start for Scotland against France in Paris on Saturday afternoon.
The Glasgow brothers have both been brought into the starting line up following last weekend’s defeat to Wales and will play together for their country for the first time.
Elder bother Max replaces Ben Cairns at centre after scoring a superb solo try as a late replacement against the Grand Slam winners at Murrayfield.
Former London Wasps wing Thom was a surprise omission from the matchday 22 for Scotland’s Six Nations opener but has now been handed the No11 shirt in place of the injured Simon Webster. The 22-year-old has scored nine tries in 14 outings for his club so far this season and is widely regarded as the in-form wing in Scotland.
The pair, who follow England’s Delon and Steffon Armitage in appearing alongside one another in this year’s championship, became the 45th set of brothers to play for Scotland and will now become the 20th to feature together in the same match.
Webster and debutant prop Geoff Cross have both been ruled out of the trip to Paris after being concussed against the Welsh, while Lions contenders Nathan Hines and Euan Murray have failed to recover from knee and rib concerns that led to their absence from last Saturday’s 26-13 loss.
Gloucester’s Alasdair Strokosch comes in for Ally Hogg in the back row, while clubmate Alasdair Dickinson replaces Cross and Simon Danielli is named ahead of Sean Lamont on the right wing.
Scotland’s record points scorer, Chris Paterson has again been named on the bench despite an impressive performance as a replacement against Wales.
"We all know that the supporters demand and deserve better than the performance against Wales and they are determined to do that against France," said Scotland coach Frank Hadden.
"I’m happy with the quality of the side who are very aware of the need to perform better given the tough challenge that’s facing us on Saturday."
