Stephen Jones looks ahead to the second test in Pretoria.
On the mood in the camp
It’s been a frustrating week but we’ve had to take the positives out of the game and be honest and open with ourselves. There were areas in our game that weren’t good enough and it’s about addressing those areas and making sure that we are being smart – it’s important that we implement our game plan from the first minute because now it’s last chance saloon.
On the slow start in the First Test
It did take us a while to get into the game but we have got to give South Africa a lot of praise because they played very well and were very efficient in what they did. Yes, we did come back in the last quarter of the game but we had a mountain to climb and we can’t afford to do that this week – this week it is about being smart and playing a good territorial game and we need to be clever in the variety and mix in the way we play.
On the challenge of playing at Loftus
Big challenge and it’s about identify what moves we need to do where we need to attack, where there’s space and keeping a cool head.
On the must-win pressure
The pressures on us in the sense that we need to win but we’ve got a lot of leaders in our group in the players and management and it’s an honest bunch and we are working hard and we are going to do everything in our power to get a win. It’s all about winning the Test matches – that’s the bottom line.
