Adam Jones is on his way home to Wales to work with Ospreys physio Chris Towers on his injured right shoulder.
Jones dislocated his shoulder when he was charged by Springbok lock Bakkies Botha on the edge of a ruck four minutes into the second half. Botha was subsequently cited and given a two week ban.
One of four Lions players taken to hospital after the 28-25 defeat in Pretoria, Jones had to have the joint put back into place under anaesthetic.
”Arrangements are being made to bring Adam home this week. When he arrives back we’ll take a close look at him and assess his condition fully,” said Towers.
“We will then consult with specialists before any decision can be made regards the management of his injury and any anticipated lay-off.”
Jones is the second Osprey to return home early from the tour – Lee Byrne returned home last weekend after snapping a ligament in his thumb – while Ryan Jones was sent home more or less immediately after arriving after undergoing a neuro check up following his head injury on tour with Wales.
