Former Lions tourist Ben Cohen and 2009 squad member Andrew Sheridan will return to domestic rugby this evening.
Sheridan, who also toured with the Lions in 2005, featured in both the second and third Tests against the Springboks this summer and is now set for his first taste of action since returning from the Republic.
Cohen, meanwhile, has been away from the English game since September 2007 but will now feature for his new club in tonight’s pre-season friendly against Exeter Chiefs.
The 2001 Lion swapped the Guinness Premiership for the Top 14 when he left Northampton for French side Brive six years after touring Australia with Graham Henry’s Lions.
Both Cohen and his new club coach Kingsley Jones have talked openly of his desire to return to the international fold with England and tonight’s game at Edgeley Park will be the winger’s first chance to impress national team manager Martin Johnson.
Cohen and Sheridan will be joined in Sale’s starting line up by 2005 Lions Mark Cueto and Charlie Hodgson, although scrum-half Dwayne Peel misses out.
