Lions tourist Keith Earls faces an anxious wait to find out of the extent of an ankle injury.
The versatile youngster limped out of a pre-season training session amid fears that he may be in for a length lay off.
Munster have confirmed that the star centre cum full back cum wing has not suffered a break, however, much to the relief of Munster head coach Tony McGahan and Ireland boss Declan Kidney.
But while that assessment is clearly good news, the 22-year-old could still be sidelined after it was revealed that he will need to undergo further medical examination in the coming days.
"The injury occurred in a non-contact situation and a subsequent x ray revealed no break," said a Munster statement.
"However, Earls will need to undergo further medical examination later in the week to determine the exact extent of the damage."
Munster begin the new season at home to Magners League newcomers Aironi Rugby on Friday September 3, while their hunt for a third Heineken Cup crown in six years begins at London Irish on October 9.
The Irish giants are already without Club captain Paul O’Connell, who led the Lions in South Africa last summer, with the second row nursing a groin injury that will keep him out until December.
