Wales have called 2009 Lions prop Adam Jones into their 2011 RBS 6 Nations squad ahead of the clash with France in Paris on Saturday.
Jones is a direct replacement for his regional team-mate Craig Mitchell who withdrew during Wales’ 19-13 home win over Ireland with a dislocated shoulder.
"Craig has now had corrective surgery after dislocating his right shoulder," said Wales national performance medical manager Prav Mathema.
"The operation went very well and we would now expect him to be back playing within a 12 – 16 week period."
Jones returned to front row action for the Ospreys two weeks ago against Glasgow Warriors after a seven week lay-off of his own with an elbow injury.
He will join up with his national team-mates at the WRU National Centre of Excellence tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, Scarlets wing George North, who trained with the squad last week to boost numbers, has also been confirmed as an official squad member.
Wales travel to Stade de France lying second in the Championship table and still with a chance of winning the title.
But for that to happen Wales need Ireland to beat Grand Slam chasing England.
