Two tour Lion Jason Robinson has taken up a temporary role with Russia ahead of their Churchill Cup clash with Canada.
The devastating runner, who toured Australia and New Zealand with the Lions and scored 11 tries in 11 appearances, has been out of work since leaving Sale Sharks last summer.
But he has agreed to help his former boss Kingsley Jones by linking up with the Russia national team on Sunday.
Although Robinson has agreed to help this week only, Jones who will take Russia to the World Cup is hoping to tempt the former Lion back for the showpiece tournament.
"Jason has been helping out for a couple of days and hopefully our players will realise that although he's a bit special he is just a normal bloke, just like the guys they will come up against in the World Cup," Jones told the Daily Express.
"On Saturday they wanted their photo taken with him, but hopefully now they will be over that 'look who it is' mentality.
"I'm trying to expose our players to their heroes, and it's great that Jason has helped us out like this. He had integrated well, and maybe will come back and help out later."
