Gavin Henson says he is only two weeks away from making his much awaited comeback with new club Cardiff Blues.
The 2005 British & Irish Lions centre missed out on the World Cup yet again this year when he broke his wrist in the warm-up win over England at the Millennium Stadium in August. Since that time he has signed for the Blues and has been re-habbing his injury.
But while watching his new team mates moved up into third place in the RaboDirect PRO12 with an emphatic 38-0 home win over Aironi, Henson told the S4C reporter he is almost ready to return.
“I’ve been training with the conditioning team up until now, but on Monday I will be with the coaches for the first time. I think I’m only a few weeks away from being ready to play,” said Henson.
“I’m really excited about getting back onto the field and I’d love to play at outside half or inside centre. It would be great to play at No 10 and get the chance to run the show.
“But I know that Dan Parks and Ceri Sweeney are playing well in that position, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.”
