Australia star David Pocock insists his focus is on the pitch with Western Force despite his increasingly uncertain future.
The Wallabies flanker, arguably the best seven in the world, is out of contract with the Perth out-fit at the end of the season and is a target for Australia’s other Super 15 franchises.
ACT Brumbies head coach Jake White has already expressed interest in the prestigious talent, who is sure to feature against the Lions next year.
Force have made retaining their captain’s services a priority but have endured a tumultuous period with head coach Richard Graham forced out after announcing he would join Queensland Reds next season.
Force face the Stormers tomorrow and Pocock insists that is the only priority.
''I guess with my personal contract stuff, I've put that on the backburner for the moment and [I'm] really focusing on the club,'' said Pocock.
''I've put it to the side until we can get things back on track as a playing group. There's been a bit of uncertainty with Richard leaving and the assistant coaches stepping up into the role and filling the gap.
''It's obviously been a tough few weeks. The group's really committed to finishing the season well.''
White reckons Pocock could be the next superstar flanker in Canberra since George Smith, who now plays for Stade Francais, and is in Amlin Challenge Cup action against Toulon tonight.
''There's always going to be speculation about the top players. We have shown an interest in [Pocock] just like all other franchises have,'' said White.
''But there's no rush, the fact he would consider [joining the Brumbies] is fantastic.
''We want to become better and better and better every year, so if bringing him to the Brumbies would send a positive message and I'm sure it will add value to us.
''I respect the fact David doesn't want to rush into anything and I'm not going to put pressure on him.
''When the time is right we would be happy to offer him something if he's keen.''
