Wallabies star Quade Cooper will make a rare appearance in Australian club rugby this weekend.
The Queensland Reds fly-half is short of game time ahead of the inaugural Rugby Championship and will turn out for Souths against Coast Breakers in Queensland's Premier Rugby competition.
Cooper missed much of the regular Super Rugby season through injury, before being suspended from the Reds' semi-final defeat. The maverick fly-half also missed the Wallabies 3-0 whitewash of Wales in June.
Robbie Deans will be a keen observer and may be forced reshuffle his back-line following the loss of Pat McCabe's.
The centre has been ruled out for six weeks due to a stress fracture. That could open the door to Cooper with Berrick Barnes, the man in possession of the No.10 jersey, moving into the centre.
