No time to reflect on Lions for Saints star Corbisiero

Alex Corbisiero admits he’s not had time to fully reflect on his summer with the British & Irish Lions having swapped London Irish for Northampton Saints.

The 25-year-old started the first Test against Australia on June 22 and he scored the first try in the decisive third Test as the Lions emerged 41-16 victors.

But the prop’s busy summer wasn’t just restricted to Down Under, he is a new arrival at Saints alongside fellow Lion George North.

And the New York-born ace claims he’s barely had time to find his feet at Franklin’s Gardens, let alone have time to reminisce about his exploits with the Lions.

“I haven’t had much time to focus on the Lions,” he said. “I’ve had a bit of a holiday and have got straight back into it at Saints.

“You’ve got to impress a new set of lads and coaches. There isn’t time to look at the past and take it. You are looking forward and getting back in the grind.

“I had my comfort zone in Surrey and Cobham with my family and friends, so it was an adjustment. But the club and the town have been very welcoming.

“I’m enjoying being in a rugby centred town, which is a new experience.”
