Geoff Parling is a proven winner after helping the British & Irish Lions to victory in Australia this summer – and now he wants to taste the same success with England.
The lock played a pivotal role against the Wallabies, starting in two Tests and making seven appearances in total as the Lions took their first Tour win in 16 years.
And Parling is on a mission to replicate that same winning feeling at international level after narrowly missing out with England in the Six Nations earlier this year.
“My aim is to stay in the England side and win things,” Parling said.
“We were runners-up in the Six Nations and I want to win with England. It’s great to play at that level, but frustrating to be second.
“I have won nothing with England and want to put that right. I want to celebrate a trophy with the national team. We beat New Zealand last year, but that was a one-off game.
“We have had good runs and some wins, but need to step it up and get over the winning line.”
