Saturday might mark British & Irish Lions legend Brian O’Driscoll’s final ever international but one man who won’t be getting caught up in the emotion is his teammate and fellow Lion Cian Healy.
Joe Schmidt’s side head to Paris knowing that victory against France will put them in the driving seat to send their Irish talisman out on a high.
The encounter marks O’Driscoll’s Ireland swansong, after the legendary centre waved goodbye to Dublin last weekend with a man-of-the-match display against Italy.
But Healy believes the prospect of being crowned champions will be motivation enough for the Men in Green on Saturday.
"Every game he (Brian) plays now is his last he plays against someone, so we had it for a while but it is something you have to park. You can't let emotion like that take you over,” he said.
"We've got to be clinical going into this game and we rely on being well-drilled and not being fired up just to give Drico a send-off.
"I don't think we have to get fired up. We back ourselves completely in everything we've done.
"Emotion is natural to an Irish team and when we have that tied in with being well-drilled and being accurate in everything – that is our way of breaking them down.
“We don't have to go in with mad, aggressive heads, trying to beat people up.”
