British & Irish Lions captain Sam Warburton believes his shoulder injury could be a blessing in disguise as he sets about getting back to his very best.
Warburton led Wales admirably in their five recent matches and turned in a stand-out performance against France, scoring a fine try.
In the thumping win over Scotland however, Warburton picked up the injury and as a result, he has undergone surgery and will miss Wales’ summer tour to South Africa.
But Warburton believes that the extended rest will do him the world of go, claiming he’ll be fully refreshed by the time next season gets under way.
"It'll be the first time I'll have a good two and a half months pre-season since maybe 2009 when I first came through," Warburton said.
"I think for the long term it could be quite a good thing for me and come September I'll be raring to go."
