British & Irish Lion Stuart Hogg is relieved he can call James Downey a teammate this season rather than have to face the centre on the pitch.
Hogg was part of the Scotland squad that lost out in the plate semi-final to England at the Commonwealth Games.
But the 22-year-old doesn’t have time to rest as he sets his sights on Glasgow Warriors and pre-season for the upcoming domestic campaign.
And as he bids to go one better than last season’s PRO 12 final defeat to Leinster this time around, Hogg believes former Northampton and Munster centre Downey will be a great addition to the Warriors.
"It's always good to get new faces into the club and new friends and at the end of the day it's another player in the team who can add something and I'm excited to see what they can offer," Hogg told the Glasgow Warriors website.
"I've had a few nightmares in the past playing against James (Downey) with him running down my channel, so it'll be good to play off him.
"He's a strong ball carrier and it's exciting to have the chance to play with him next season."
