British and Irish Lion Stuart Hogg believes Finn Russell is the perfect man to bring a spark of unpredictability to the Scotland backline.
Russell produced an eye-catching display as the Scots were edged out 15-8 by France on Saturday, with Hogg providing a couple of memorable breaks of his own.
And the Lions full-back, who scored 23 points in his five appearances during the triumphant tour in 2013, insists that the young fly-half has the potential to carve open the best of international defences.
“Finn is different class – he’s a class act,” Hogg told STV Sport.
“We’ve found you can only expect the unexpected from him, he’ll throw a dummy here, a little chip kick there.
“He’s got that little bit of invention you need to unpick the top teams.
“It’s great. We’re looking for a little bit of individual brilliance and Finn is the man who can bring that.”
Hogg also admitted it was good to return to the international stage, having made the most of his early Scotland opportunities to earn a spot in Warren Gatland’s Lions squad two years ago.
“I love playing rugby and I love playing for Scotland so it was great to be back,” he added.
“As long as I’m doing my part for the team, that’s all that can be asked of me.
“But I’m very much a team player and I’m hurting just as much as anyone else is.
“Gone are the days where we can just come here hoping to be pleased with a performance – we’re here to win Championships.”
