Christchurch is known as The Garden City and the 2017 British & Irish Lions will hope to be approaching full bloom by the time they touch down on the South Island.
It will be the 2017 Lions’ third-stop off on June 10, hot on the heels of their visits to Whangarei and Auckland, and there are fewer greener cities in the world – with Christchurch able to boast 740 parks that cover approximately 3,000ha.

A well-earned rest can be sought at Hanmer Springs' thermal pools and spa, where visitors can relax in thermal sulphur and hot rock pools.
At 1.8km, the Rakaia Bridge is the longest in the southern hemisphere, but those who prefer to seek their entertainment indoors will find a vibrant arts scene.
