Scarlets, Wales and British & Irish Lions star Jonathan Davies was on Monday announced as the 2017 BBC Wales ‘Sports Personality of the Year’.
The centre played a key role on the 2017 Lions Tour, starting all three Test matches against the All Blacks.
He was named the ‘Standard Life Investments Lions Player of the Tour’ after topping a players’ vote.

The Tour of New Zealand was Davies second, he also helped the team to a series win in Australia in 2013.
As well as starring at Test level, the 29-year-old has had a truly exceptional year for his club, playing an integral role as Scarlets won the Guinness Pro14 back in May. He also played in every match of the Championship for Wales – scoring a try in round one against Italy.
Lions fans will remember that incredible try in the first Test in which Davies was pivotal, while defensive reads and key tackles were another standout feature of his play
Speaking on the night by video he said: “Thanks very much to everyone that voted, it means a lot. Especially with all the nominations there. There’s been some great achievements in Welsh sport this year and to get this award means a lot. I’m very grateful, I’ve had a lot of fun this year, it’s a year I’ll never forget”.
