New Zealand coach Graham Henry will end his rotation policy after his side’s Tri Nations road trip in South Africa.
The double-header in the Republic will see the former Wales coach finalise his first-choice, 22-man squad which will form the basis of his World Cup 2007 party.
Henry will then put his elite group through their paces and expect them to cope with the kind of intense programme demanded in the France tournament next year.
"The system of developing two teams, depth and unity will not be a major emphasis on the end-of-year tour and won’t be a major emphasis in the Tri Nations next year," he said.
"There will be some players that we would hope can play three in a row. We don’t know that until we try it out on the end-of-year tour and next year.
"They are huge Test matches physically and guys take a long time to recover. Some of our players don’t recover until the Thursday after a Test match and then they play again on Saturday.
"It takes a long time and we want to make sure we are doing it right, and that we’ve trialled it before the World Cup, so we will play some players three games in a row."
The statement indicates the current core group will be relied on to regain the All Blacks the Webb Ellis trophy at the fifth time of asking.
