France prop Pieter de Villiers is expected to miss his side’s clash with South Africa on Saturday following a family bereavement.
The South African-born prop, who has won 55 caps for Les Bleus, has not trained since the start of the week.
"We are waiting until Thursday or Friday to decide, with Pieter, whether or not he will play," said France team manager Jo Maso.
France thrashed Romania 62-14 in Bucharest on Saturday and take on Jake White’s Springboks at Newlands this weekend.
France coach Bernard Laporte will announce his starting line-up on Wednesday.
