New Scotland captain Jason White has called on his players to return to winning ways by claiming a first victory over Argentina in 15 years at Murrayfield.
The Sale Sharks forward will lead the team for the first time for the encounter in the capital after being handed the armband by new coach Frank Hadden.
The game also marks Hadden’s first match in charge at Murrayfield after he took temporary control of the side for the summer wins over the Barbarians and Romania.
After the difficult 17-month era under Australian Matt Williams, a new feel-good factor has enveloped the Scotland camp but White knows it is ultimately results that count.
Victory would see the Scots leapfrog Saturday’s opponents to climb to eighth in the world rankings and White has called on his men to deliver.
White said: "It’s been a good week for us. Most of the Scottish-based guys were fresh after being rested last weekend and I think only myself and Sean Lamont (Northampton) played who are in the starting XV.
"And we know it’s a massive game for us on Saturday. The last two years, results-wise have not been good.
"But in the last year we’ve progressed as a squad and now have more experience at international level.
"Guys have come through with more experience, playing with their club sides, and it’s time to start beating teams.
"There is a feel-good factor and that will only remain while the team is performing well.
"We need to play a style of rugby that is going to be effective for us. You’ve also got to have a little bit of inner belief and back yourself.
"The performance is very important to us but we all know results are key.
"We know it’s up to us to go out and try and put on a good show. It’s my first game as captain and Frank’s first game at Murrayfield as coach so there is a lot to play for."
