New Zealand is next on the agenda for the sea of red and according to Jason Robinson, it is the fans that make British & Irish Lions tours so special.
Robinson toured with the Lions on two occasions, to Australia in 2001 and to New Zealand four years later.
It is the Australia tour that holds special memories for the former England flyer, not only because he scored two tries in three Test matches.
The first Test, which the Lions would go on to win 29-13, brought with it Robinson’s first taste of a Lions crowd in full voice.
Swarms of red filled the Gabba in Brisbane and the 40-year-old can clearly recall the feeling of walking out onto the pitch.
“You’re pumped up,” he said. “I’m five foot eight but I felt like six foot seven. The noise was absolutely amazing. I was so pumped up with emotion.
“The fans are really one of the key ingredients to the Lions being what it is. These are the moments you live for.”
