Murray refusing to rest on laurels

British & Irish Lions scrum-half Conor Murray insists that he will continue striving to improve his game no matter what successes come his way.

The 25-year-old made seven appearances for the British & Irish Lions on last summer’s successful tour of Australia, including in the final two Tests.

But despite his rise as a Lion and for Ireland, he admits the search for perfection continues.

“You never play the perfect match,” he told the Irish Examiner.

“There are always things I am annoyed with no matter how well we play. The way we played overall against Toulouse in the quarter-final last season was great, but there were a few bits that annoyed me in my own game.

“I have talked to Joe [Schmidt], to Axel [Foley] and Greig Oliver about ways of improving.”
