The British and Irish Lions squad will face New Zealand’s ferocious haka in 2017, but captain Richie McCaw and veteran hooker Keven Mealamu were given a version of their own following the All Blacks’ win over Wales in Cardiff.
The sound of the thunderous war cry rang around the hallways of the Millennium Stadium after the 34-16 victory, to honour McCaw’s 100th test as captain and Mealamu becoming New Zealand's most capped first class player, having notched up 361 matches.
And while it remains to be seen if the All Blacks legends will be around to face the Lions in 2017, McCaw reflected on a job well done after his side silenced the 72,000 Welsh fans.
"I'm pretty satisfied. It's one of the great places to play and this was like that again," said the 33-year-old.
"When the final whistle goes and you've found a way to take the opportunities and come off with what the scoreboard said was reasonably comfortable in the end, it's a pretty proud moment from a team point of view.
"When you talk about Tests being 80 minutes you have to believe it's not all going to go your way all the time, but it's never going to go against you all the time either.
"So it's about influencing the momentum. Sure there were times when we were down on the scoreboard with ten minutes to go, but we were getting into the game and they looked pretty tired.
"All we had to do was hold the ball and when you've got guys with the talent we've got, when an opportunity pops up we take it."
