British & Irish Lions full-back Stuart Hogg is likely to be back in action for Glasgow Warriors this weekend in what would be a major boost for the Scottish outfit.
Warriors are currently in fine form and have won their last six matches, currently placing them second and in with a shout of a home semi-final.
All the more impressive is that they have done so without a number of internationals, including Hogg, but Townsend is poised to call on his big guns as the Warriors look to complete a double Italian Job.
First up is an away trip to Treviso followed by their final regular season match at home to Zebre and maximum points from both would guarantee a top-two finish.
And Towsend confirmed that Hogg, who was the youngest member of the British & Irish Lions squad last summer, is set to play his part.
“Hoggy is also likely to be there this weekend,” Townsend told the Scottish Daily Record.
“We are hoping Alex [Dunbar] will be back in contention for the Treviso match after his injury lay-off, with Sean [Lamont] maybe being available for Zebre.”
