The signing of British & Irish Lion Richard Hibbard has already brought a smile to the face of one member of the Gloucester pack with fellow hooker Darren Dawidiuk eagerly awaiting his arrival.
Hibbard started the decisive third Test as the Lions secured a 2-1 series victory in Australia – ending 16 years of hurt in the process.
The 30-year-old will join up with his new team-mates at Kingsholm in the summer after completing the season with the Ospreys.
And Dawidiuk, 26, believes the arrival of one of the stars of the British & Irish Lions tour will only be a good thing.
“It's a really good signing and a great positive for the team, the club and myself,” he said.
“Personally I see it as a positive – you need to learn from someone like Hibbard.
“I see it as a massive competition and that's only going to drive the squad harder. I will have to push myself and improve as a player.
“I'm really looking forward to having that competition and working alongside him.”
