He is still only 22-years-old and looks set to become a legend in the game of rugby for years to come, but British & Irish Lions No.8 Toby Faletau insists he is far from the finished article.
In his fledgling international career the Wales star has already won two Six Nations titles, finished fourth at the Rugby World Cup and been part of a successful Lions tour Down Under.
This summer in Australia Faletau had to bide his time before finally being given his chance in the decisive third Test.
Jamie Heaslip was preferred at No.8 for the first two Tests but Faletau came in for the Sydney decider and was very impressive in the 41-16 victory, his turnover in the second half one of the moments of the tour.
But despite his tender years Faletau insists there is much more to come from him, indeed the Tongan-born star does not even believe his pivotal role in Sydney was that impressive a performance.
“It wasn’t great so I can’t really say I had a good game,” Faletau told Wales Online.
“There’s still parts of my game I’ve got to improve so I’ve got to go back to the drawing board and work on those.”
“I’m nowhere near what you call the legendary No. 8s for Wales.
“It’s not in my sights trying to be a legend, I just play each game as it comes and try and enjoy the moments.
“I need to improve my work at the contact area, everywhere really.”
