Lions lock Simon Shaw has been cited after Saturday’s third Test win over South Africa in Johannesburg.
Shaw played a pivotal role in the Lions’ second try as he turned over South African possession but he was then sent to the sin bin late in the first half.
The veteran Wasps and England star was involved in an incident with Springbok scrum-half Fourie du Preez in the 37th minute and was ordered to spend 10 minutes on the sidelines.
Citing officer Steve Hinds of New Zealand has since cited Shaw for an offence of striking with the knee.
Shaw, who won the man-of-the-match award on his Lions Test debut in Pretoria a week ago, will appear before judicial officer Alan Hudson of Canada at the offices of the Golden Lions Rugby Union in Johannesburg on Sunday.
