A total of 12 British & Irish Lions will be action at Twickenham this Saturday in a star-studded charity match in aid of the Help for Heroes charity.
Scott Gibbs leads an International XV against Lawrence Dallaglio’s Help for Heroes side, with 10 other former Lions named in the matchday squads.
Dallaglio, who retired from professional rugby at the end of last season following three tours as a Lion, will be joined by fellow three-times tourists Martin Johnson, Richard Hill and Will Greenwood, as well as 1997 hooker Mark Regan, 2001 wing Dan Luger and 2001 and 2005 star Jason Robinson.
Joining Welshman Gibbs, himself a Lions tourist on three occasions, are countrymen Darren Morris and Colin Charvis, who both toured with the Lions in 2001, Scottish international Gordon Bulloch who featured in 2001 and 2005 and Ireland’s Shane Byrne, a Test starter in New Zealand three years ago.
Another Lions legend, Ieuan Evans, will be acting as manager for the International XV, with ex-England skipper Phil de Glanville taking on the same role with the Help for Heroes squad.
All Black superstar Jonah Lomu is also set to feature, as are Samoan No8 Zak Feaunati and Wigan rugby league great, Martin Offiah.
The match, which aims to raise £1 million to aid those members of the Army, Navy or Royal Air Force recovering from injury sustained on active duty, kicks off at 2.30pm this Saturday.
Tickets are available in advance from Ticketmaster on 0844 847 2492 or at www.ticketmaster.co.uk until 1pm on Friday September 19 and are priced from £20 for adults and £10 for juniors, with a family ticket costing £50.
Tickets will also be available on the day from the South Stand ticket office.
