Argentina prop Omar Hasan expressed his delight at the 28-14 win over the French Barbarians on Saturday.
The Pumas will play France in the group stage of the World Cup later this year and the Baa Baas fielded players on the fringe of the national-team squad.
And it was this quality that meant that Hasan, who plays in France with Stade Toulouse, was hugely encouraged by the win.
"They (Barbarians) had 12 players who are fighting to be part of France’s World Cup squad," he said.
"We had a bit of a complicated moment when we had only 13 players on the field, but we had lots of chances to cross."
Argentina used the match to try out hopefuls too, which also proved a fruitful move.
"Now we can say there is a 60-man group," Hasan continued.
"It is a very positive point as the World Cup is very near and it’s good to have a big squad available."
Biarritz’s Martin Gaitan added: "In these tours, we can see that there is an important group, with lots of players, and all of them have chances to be at the World Cup."
