IRB Rugby Player of the year Bryan Habana has confirmed that he will not leave his country to play in Europe until after the British and Irish Lions tour in 2009.
Habana, who was the top tryscorer in this year’s World Cup, said there were several approaches for his services, but added that, unlike some of his countrymen, he wasn’t worried about money.
"My next goal is to make a contribution to the Springbok team to beat the Lions," Habana said.
"In 1997, the Springboks, who were then World Cup champions, lost to the Lions. "I want to be part of a team of world champions who beat the Lions."
