Lorenzo Bruno Nero Dallaglio could have played international rugby for Italy or Ireland, but in the end chose his native England, enjoying a 12-year international career.
During that time he went on three Tours with The British & Irish Lions, playing all three Tests in the historic series win in South Africa in 1997. Starting alongside England teammates Richard Hill and Tim Rodber, Dallaglio was used at blindside for the first two Tests before shifting to No.8 for the third.
Unfortunately for Dallaglio that Tour was to prove the high point of his Lions career, with knee and ankle injuries cutting short subsequent Tours to Australia and then New Zealand.
With England however he went on to be part of the 2003 squad that claimed World Cup glory, and also captained his side on 22 occasions. At international level he also won the Championship on four occasions, and was a Sevens World Cup winner with England in 1993.
