The son of a Welsh historian, Dewi Bebb made his international debut for Wales against England in 1959, going on to win 34 caps for his country and scoring 11 tries.
Bebb – regarded as one of the all-time great Welsh wingers – made his first appearance in the famous red jersey for the Lions Tour to South Africa in 1962, where he featured in two of the four Tests against the Springboks, playing in nine games throughout the entire Tour.
Four years later, Bebb was once again selected for the Tour to Australia, New Zealand and Canada, appearing in 23 matches – including all six Tests – and becoming the joint top try scorer on the Tour with 42 points in all.
A teacher by profession, Bebb went into broadcasting and journalism after his playing career. He passed away in 1996 at the age of 57.
