DE Pratten played under skipper Bernard Gadney and was part of The British & Irish Lions side that travelled to Argentina in 1936.
He played alongside the likes of Russian-born English centre Alexander Obolensky as they turned in one of the most emphatic performances in Lions history, conceding just 12 points and scoring 399.
Leicester’s Gadney captained the side, with club-mate Doug Prentice coaching the side and second-row Pratten played a crucial role as the Lions recorded 27-0 and 28-0 triumphs over Argentina A and B respectively, before beating the full international Argentina side 23-0.
