Greenwich-born John Moll was part of The British & Irish Lions side that made their third trip to Argentina in 1936.

The Lions dominance continued, turning in one of the most emphatic performances in their history, conceding just 12 points and scoring 399.

Leicester’s Bernard Gadney led the side, but Lloyd’s Bank star Moll was crucial in a predominantly English side that helped to inspire the growth of Argentinian rugby.

After 27-0 and 28-0 triumphs over Argentina A and B respectively, they won the international with Argentina 23-0.
