Peter Hobbs is one of those rare Lions players that played in the famous jersey, but never pulled on the red rose of England.
The No 8 played his club rugby for Richmond and was selected to be part of the 1936 British & Irish Lions touring squad to Argentina.
After the Tour to Argentina he was not picked for the 1938 trip to South Africa, and never got another opportunity to pull on the Lions jersey after dying in the Second World War.
Hobbs died on May 27, 1942, at the age of just 31 years and 69 days, before the first Battle of El Alamein, in Egypt.
